This is a Samsung issue with the Watch Face Format, which they introduced with the latest app update. Unfortunately, we have no control over this.   3. Gradient Time (9x - default = solid color)
  4. Wave Seconds Style (4x)
  5. Color (30x)
  6. Custom complications (app shortcuts too)

The phone app serves only as a placeholder to make it easier to install and find the watch face on your Wear OS watch. You have to select your watch device from the install drop-down menu.
